A Quick Fix
When life gets complicated it is normal, no it is human, to want a quick fix versus go through all the messiness of unraveling and rebuilding with a stronger foundation. Yet, you are worth it.
It’s a normal plea. It’s common for ambitious, creative, loving people to reach a phase of exhaustion with sinew, muscles, and nerves so tight that nothing feels fluid any longer. There are only glitches, and abruptness, and mechanical machinations while under the surface you hope you can keep it together for just another hour, just another day. A breath—shallow and small—seems to happen only once an hour. You’ve held on, and clenched down, and pushed on, through innumerable feelings, thoughts, challenges, to find a wee semblance of wiggle room in life while you recognize your body and spirit aches for … a quick fix. A quick release. Something, somehow, to quickly reset to a healthy pattern so you can rest for once. Truly rest. And start again rejuvenated and joyful.
Her eyes looked hopeful and nervous. “Is there a quick way to fix it?”
“Did getting here happen quickly?” I inquire patiently.
Her shoulders drop. A slight laugh escapes and she admits, “No.”
Of course, an energy balancing session with a trained practitioner can be an excellent jumpstart to get back on a healthy road. It often provides clients with releasing heaviness, clearing their biofield of emotional and mental weight, reconnecting and clearing the flow for effective functioning of their chakras and meridians.
Yet for continuous, true healing, most people need to know healing, health, hope, and innumerable good things wait for you just on the other side of one mediocre breath aligned with an intention to honor yourself and once again choose a quality life. No matter how many distracting side paths you’ve taken, there’s a charcuterie board of nourishing options to begin the reclaiming of your body, spirit, mind, and life vitality.
She and I sat drinking tea. We envisioned and brainstormed which self-care interventions might easily be incorporated in her present life’s pacing and chosen obligations of life. We did a grounding tree meditation. When she looked up, her eyes held more sparkle. We talked about the impact of 5-10 slow deep breaths throughout the day. About how to bring green and nature inside if she cannot frequently dwell outside. We discussed how to reserve a section of the dining room table or any counter space as an altar for focus and gentle reminders of her week’s goals, her energetic balance, and joy.
For her, like many, we needed to recognize and embrace that self-care is not selfish. Maintaining one’s health enables us to help others as well as to fully explore this opportunity as a human. It is self-transcendent to understand that each of our experiences—our challenges as well as our delights—filters back to the greater consciousness. Our choices expand all that is.
A quick fix? What is “quick”? Time is inconsistent when it comes to an individual’s strength of intention, will, self-care, intercession of the Divine, and acceptance of self-worth.
For some, healing begins with this often uncomfortable truth: You are of worth, of value, and of love. Every day you contribute consciously or unconsciously to the energetic vibration and frequency of all of existence. You matter. Thank you for being here. You do us all an honor by being here right now. It is time, you embrace all that is possible and all the potential you bring to his time and space.
Peace. Peace. Peace.
